Ann Shostrom's exhibition, fusion, on view at the Elizabeth Harris Gallery in New York City, will close with a reception from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3.
Ann Shostrom was born in Chicago. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MFA from Syracuse University. Shostrom lives and works in New York City and teaches at Penn State.
The show is the second solo exhibition of Shostom's to be held at the gallery. Shostrom’s work expands the possibilities of painting, drawing, inspiration from conceptual, materialist, and gestural approaches to art making. Fabrics and used household linens are dyed, painted, embroidered, and sewn together, collapsing the distinctions between medium, genre, abstraction and representation, fine art and craft.
The Elizabeth Harris Gallery is located at 529 West 20th Street, New York. For more information, visit http://elizabethharrisgallery.com
