Christine Ballengee Morris, 1995 Ph.D. Art Education

Christine is a professor in the Arts Administration, Education and Policy Department and former American Indian Studies program director for The Ohio State University. She was the founding director of The Multicultural Center at OSU. Her teaching experiences include fourteen years in the public school system, twenty years as an artist-in-residence in public schools and five countries, and higher education since 1992. She has been recognized numerous times for her work, including a 2013 June King McFee Award for her work around diversity, and the 2012 National Art Education Fellow Award. Her research interests include self-determination, identity development, indigenous arts, integrated curricula, service-learning, visual culture, and arts-based research. Christine earned both her B.S. and M.A. in Art Education from Miami University (Ohio) before pursuing her Ph.D. at Penn State.
