This edition features stories on some of our donors—the Ouwehands, who established an endowment at the Center for the Performing Arts, and Karen Thorp, who created a scholarship in memory of her husband, Architecture alumnus Charles Thorp. The Ouwehands and Karen Thorp are just two examples of how our alumni and friends are making a difference in the College of Arts and Architecture. Your support not only helps to make a Penn State education possible for many students, but allows the college to offer programming that positions the University as a premier cultural destination in Pennsylvania. The college is incredibly grateful for your continuing generosity.
We are heading quickly toward the close of the semester, and with that comes end-of-year recitals, exhibits, critiques, and our annual luncheon for endowment donors and our Alumni Award recipients. It’s an exciting time when we get to celebrate people who mean so much to the college. In addition, our students have the opportunity to meet with alumni who have attained a great level of success in their respective professions.
If you’re going to be in town for Blue/White Weekend, please stop by our Blue/White Tailgate and Senior Send-Off, presented by the Arts and Architecture Alumni Society, on Saturday, April 16 (details found here: https://artsandarchitecture.psu.edu/content/2016tailgate). If you are planning a trip to campus at any time, be sure to check out our events calendar—during the academic year, we have numerous performances, exhibitions, lectures, and other events nearly every day of the week.
Thanks, as always, for your support. We hope to see you on campus soon!
