The Penn State School of Music will host the Single Reed Summit November 9–10, 2012, on the University Park campus. This event will include performances, master classes, lectures, chamber music, the Lyle Merriman High School and College performance competitions, vendors and several world premieres. Penn State students may attend all events for free with student ID. For others, registration is $10 for one day, $15 for both days. Guest artists will include the Capitol Quartet; Wildy Zumwalt, professor of saxophone at SUNY Fredonia; Deborah Bish, professor of clarinet at Florida State University; the Penn State Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Dennis Glocke conducting; the Pennsylvania Quintet; and numerous regional performers. The summit is sponsored by the David Pyle Stone Music Recital Endowment, Music & Arts, The Rosemary Duncan Fund, the Penn State Saxophone Alliance, Buffet Group, Rico Reeds, Yamaha and the Margot Music Fund.
