Catherine Jolivette ('03 Ph.D. Art History) has been honored by the Historians of British Art for the book British Art in the Nuclear Age (Ashgate, 2014), for which she served as editor. Winners were chosen in three categories from a nominating list of more than 80 books published in 2014 from more than 20 different presses. The categories include: single-author dealing with a subject before 1800, single-author dealing with a subject after 1800, and multi-author book. Jolivette's book draws on a wide array of artists and materials, offering a subtle and surprising take on Britain’s cultural position during, and in relation to, the Cold War.
Jolivette, an associate professor at Missouri State University, received the College of Arts and Architecture Alumni Award in Art History in 2012. For a previous article on Jolivette, click here.
