Reformat: Digital Fabrication in Clay, a group exhibition of ceramics from Tom Lauerman, assistant professor of art, along with Andy Brayman, Del Harrow, and Mie Kongo, is on display through July 15 at Lillstreet Art Center, Chicago, IL.
With the increasing accessibility of ever-evolving technology, computers are changing the way objects are created. Machines such as 3D printers and CNC routers are not only altering the face of product design, but also creating new opportunities in the construction of artwork. In this exhibition, Lillstreet Gallery explores the dichotomy of the age-old practice of ceramics and the technology of the future by presenting artists who employ new technology in their ceramic practices.
