March 15 – April 19, 2017
Opening Reception: March 16, 2017, 5 – 7 PM
The Woskob Family Gallery is pleased to announce Cloud Catalyst, curated by current Master of Fine Arts candidate Penelope Van Grinsven. A two-person exhibition of artists Stepanka Horalkova and Haakon Lenzi, Cloud Catalyst invites viewers to consider links among dust, clay, sky, and water in ceramics. Here clay becomes both translucent and weighty, coaxed into transcending its material boundaries. Van Grinsven’s proposal was selected through a competitive open call for student-led curatorial projects.
In addition to the works on display, the gallery will host a curator’s talk, a discussion with the artists, and a sale of student ceramic work hosted by the Penn State Clay Club. More information about the exhibition and related programming can be found at woskobfamilygallery.psu.edu.
The Woskob Family Gallery is a contemporary art space in downtown State College that brings a cohesive and carefully curated program of exhibitions and events to central Pennsylvania. Run by Penn State’s College of Arts and Architecture, the gallery serves as a laboratory for exploring how the arts can catalyze creative placemaking. The gallery is located at 146 South Allen Street, State College, PA.
Gallery hours are 9:00 am–4:00 pm, Monday through Friday and 10:00 am–2:00 pm on Saturdays. For more information, please contact Program Manager Haley Finnegan at email@example.com or (814) 863-5353, or visit woskobfamilygallery.psu.edu.
