The College of Arts and Architecture is now accepting proposals for Faculty Research Grants for work that will be conducted between January 2017 and June 2018. This annual program provides internal support for the research and creative activity of faculty in the college. Faculty should submit final proposals electronically to their unit heads by Monday, Oct. 17. The maximum grant award is $7,500. Funding decisions will be announced in early December.
Successful proposals will have the potential to make a significant contribution to the applicant’s field, enhance the applicant’s professional career, and promise a high degree of national and international visibility for the applicant, thereby increasing the reputation of the arts and design disciplines at Penn State. Projects may be at any stage of development. With the exception of new faculty, applicants must have submitted at least one application to a funding agency external to Penn State within the last three years. Unlike in previous years, that application need not be for the project under consideration for a Faculty Research Grant.
Faculty should discuss their intention to submit a proposal with their unit head prior to the Oct. 17 deadline. Please note the proposal must include an itemized budget created with the assistance of Barbara Cutler, the college’s research and grants coordinator.
