Graduate Student Awarded Fellowship to Work with Underprivileged Youth

School of Music graduate student Avi Mehta, who is pursuing a master’s degree in conducting, has been awarded an Abreu Fellowship by the New England Conservatory through El Sistema USA. The fellowship trains passionate and gifted musicians who are committed to social change through music education. The two-year program targets underprivileged youth throughout the United States and includes a two-month residency in Venezuela.
