A truly special conducting appearance occurred on Sunday, February 17 when Second Lieutenant Justin W. Lewis ('10 M.M.) conducted the 360-voice Mormon Tabernacle Choir and 80-piece orchestra in a performance of Beethoven's Hallelujah (from the oratorio Mount of Olives) during the choir's weekly radio broadcast, “Music and the Spoken Word.” He received this honor after winning a contest on Facebook.

Lewis serves as flight commander and associate conductor of the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band in Langley, Virginia. He received his commission as a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base in August, 2012.
