Palmer Museum of Art Announces Fall 2016 Docent Tours

The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State invites everyone to stop by the museum on Sundays this semester to spend an afternoon in the galleries with a docent-guided tour. Tours begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Christoffers Lobby and will last approximately forty-five minutes. Each tour will be unique and led by a different docent, focusing on an area of their particular interest. Light refreshments will be served before and afterward and all ages are welcome.

Exhibitions on view at the Palmer Museum of Art this fall are Recent Acquisitions: Gifford Beal in Rockport, August 23 through December 18; The Gentle Satire of Adolf Dehn, August 30 through December 18; and Expanded Practice, October 18 through December 11.

The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is located on Curtin Road and admission is free. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 4:00 p.m. The museum is closed Mondays and some holidays. Extended hours: Thursday, October 6, 13, 20, and 27, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Reduced hours: Saturday, November 19, through Sunday, November 27, noon to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 17, through Thursday, December 22, noon to 4:00 p.m. Closed Thursday, November 24; Friday, November 25; and Friday, December 23, 2016, through Sunday, January 1, 2017.
