Pianist Wins Young Artist Competition

Daniel Glessner

Pianist Daniel Glessner, a student in the Professional Performer's Certificate Program, was named the winner of the Young Artist Competition in the piano category at the Music Teachers National Association's Pennsylvania State Competition, held at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pa., on October 28, 2012. A student of Dr. Steven Smith, Daniel played a program including works by Chopin, Bach, Schubert, Ravel and Liszt. The competition was juried by Henry Wong Doe, Gerald Lee, and Laura Williamson. 

From Mechanicsburg, Pa., Daniel plans to pursue a doctor of musical arts in piano performance. As a state winner, he will advance to the regional competition to be held in January 2013 in Columbia, Md.
