The Penn State School of Visual Arts’ John M. Anderson Endowment Lecture Series welcomes the Yes Men for a lecture at 6 p.m. Wed., April 1, in the John Bill Freeman Auditorium of the HUB-Robeson Center. In addition, the Yes Men will lead a free, limited-enrollment workshop from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3.
The Yes Men include artist-activists Jacques Servin (AKA “Andy Bichlbaum”) and Igor Vamos (AKA “Mike Bonanno”). The Yes Men’s performative interventions cross boundaries in innovative and articulate ways, with the purpose of exposing social and political injustice. Their work is at once a call for democratic outrage and a self-professed search for good fun. When not performing with the Yes Men, Igor Vamos is associate professor of media arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Jacques Servin is currently visiting associate arts professor in the Department of Performance Studies at New York University. For the full story, click here.
