BANG!, the first of two exhibitions of work by second-year MFA students in the Penn State School of Visual Arts, is on display in Zoller Gallery through September 27. The exhibition features installation, photography, ceramics, painting, sculpture, and printmaking. A variety of themes are explored in this show. Among them, Jennifer Kirkpatrick incorporates architecture and ornament; Negar Fadaei Dehkordi explores gender roles and surveillance in her native Iran; Kevin R. Mercer tells stories through his everyman character; and Roberto Lugo uses ceramics to interpret intersections between obesity, racism, and class division. Engage with our students’ innovative art that challenges and provokes dialogue within and across cultures and media.
