Arts and Architecture Talent Scholarship

Arts and Architecture Talent Award

The College of Arts and Architecture Talent Award is an opportunity for outstanding first-year students to apply and receive a scholarship based on their superior talent in the performing arts, visual arts, and design areas. Students in any of our direct-entry majors, including architecture, landscape architecture, graphic design, visual arts, music, or theatre, are eligible. The Talent Award is renewable for 8 and up to 10 semesters depending on the student's program requirements, and requires a 3.33 cumulative Penn State GPA for renewal. The annual Talent Award, in conjunction with a Schreyer Honors College award and any other scholarship or aid, may not exceed the student’s cost of Penn State tuition, room, and board.

How to Apply

The application process requires students to submit a Penn State application through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, submit their portfolio or audition through ACCEPTD, and apply to the Schreyer Honors College (Note the receipt of a Talent Award is not contingent on admission to the Schreyer Honors College).

Schedule and Deadline

Students are able to apply to Penn State and the Schreyer Honors College, and submit their portfolio or audition through ACCEPTD, beginning August 1. The deadline to apply to the Schreyer Honors College is December 3. The deadline for receipt of audition or portfolio materials for the Talent Award is January 15. All submissions will be faculty reviewed. The awards will be released by the Associate Dean's office with your student aid information in mid-February. While we encourage you to apply early, the University does still accept applications after the dates listed above.
