L-R: Mark Langdale, Laura Bush, Penn State LArch alumnus Herb Sweeney IV

Herb Sweeney IV ('03 BLA), senior associate at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates and 2012 recipient of the Penn State Alumni Association Alumni Achievement Award, is the landscape project manager for the 15-acre park at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, still under construction, in Dallas. The Washington Post recently offered a sneak peek at the park, which recreates a Texas prairie, complete with a wildflower meadow, a new blend of native grasses and even trees transplanted from the former president’s ranch.
